About the Farm

Ambler Farm is a cherished cornerstone of Wilton’s community, steeped in history and preserved through the dedicated efforts of its volunteers and supporters. Originally established in the late 18th century by the Raymond family, the farm passed down through generations, eventually coming into the care of the Ambler family. Elizabeth "Betty" Ambler, the last family member to reside there, dedicated her life to nurturing the land until her passing in 1998. The following year, recognizing its historical and cultural significance, the Town of Wilton acquired this beloved 22-acre property, committing to its preservation as a community resource.

Today, Ambler Farm flourishes under the stewardship of the nonprofit Friends of Ambler Farm, embodying Wilton's agrarian roots and nurturing a sustainable, educational environment. At its heart lies a dedication to regenerative agriculture, community education, and responsible land management. Visitors to the farm enjoy vibrant educational programs, hands-on farming experiences, and community-building events like Ambler Farm Day, Farm-to-Table Dinners, and the Red Barn Live Music Series. Each offering celebrates the rich tapestry of the land, fostering a deeper connection between residents and their heritage.

Ambler Farm has evolved into a vibrant, living testament to community spirit, sustainable farming, and historic preservation. As restoration continues on cherished landmarks like the Raymond-Ambler House, the farm not only honors its past but looks to a thriving future. Guided by a passionate and committed team led by Executive Director Ashley Kineon and Director of Agriculture Jonathan Kirschner, Ambler Farm remains an enduring symbol of Wilton’s commitment to conservation, education, and community togetherness.
