Established in 1931 by John and Hazel Barden, Barden Family Orchard has been a cornerstone of Rhode Island agriculture for over ninety years. Rooted in the fertile soil of North Scituate, the orchard has blossomed across generations as it continues to grow a diversity of fruit trees and produce. At the heart of the orchard was Gil Barden, Jr., whose dedication to his family's land was evident in every harvest. His unexpected passing in May 2023 was a profound loss, but his spirit endures in the rows of apple and peach trees, in the buckets of blueberries picked by hand, and in the loyal customers who return each season. The Barden family's commitment to excellence, community, and tradition continues to guide the work on the farm today.
