About the Farm

Bay End Farm was originally founded in 1906, carrying more than a century of agricultural heritage in the heart of Massachusetts. Since 1998, this certified organic operation has been providing fresh produce to families throughout the Boston and Cape Cod communities through their farm stand, CSA program, farmers markets, and local restaurants. The farm has maintained its certified organic status since 2001, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to sustainable agriculture.

At the helm of Bay End Farm are Kofi Ingersoll and Erin Koh, who have been farming together since the late 1990s. Kofi was born in Ghana and grew up in Cambridge, spending summer vacations at the Cape working in the farm's garden to avoid barn duties. After studying Chinese language and literature at UMass Amherst, he returned to Bay End Farm in 1998 to continue the family farming tradition and create a lifestyle reminiscent of those cherished summer vacations. Erin joined him in 1999, bringing diverse experience as a server, modern dancer, and massage therapist to the world of organic vegetable production.

The farm operates on a philosophy of providing vegetables free from pesticides and herbicides while working the land in a sustainable manner. Kofi and Erin believe organic vegetables offer superior taste and higher nutritional value than conventionally raised produce. Together, they have built the operation to serve 100 CSA members from Cape Cod to Cambridge, while maintaining a farm stand that serves the local Bourne community. Their dedication extends to sharing their knowledge and passion, welcoming volunteers to help with cultivation, seeding, planting, and harvesting throughout their growing season.
