Maple Syrup
Benoit Family Maple Barn was established in 2020 by Jacob and Kaitlin Benoit, along with their three young children Clara, Grace, and Colt. This small family-run business operates on their 20-acre property in Richford, Vermont, where they maintain close to 800 maple taps. What began as a dream rooted in Kaitlin's lifelong love of agriculture has blossomed into a true family affair, with each member contributing to the seasonal rhythm of maple syrup production.
The Benoits are committed to preserving traditional methods, cooking their sap the old-fashioned way on a wood-fired evaporator. This time-honored approach gives their maple syrup what they proudly call "the ultimate maple flavor." Jake brings deep-rooted ties to sugar making, logging, and agricultural business from his Richford upbringing, while Kaitlin combines her agricultural education from Vermont Technical College and the University of Vermont with her experience in dairy farming and nursing.
At its heart, Benoit Family Maple Barn represents the dedication of a young family balancing multiple endeavors while maintaining their commitment to quality and community. With Jake running his own plumbing business and Kaitlin working as a per diem nurse, they navigate the challenges of operating small businesses together. Their mission centers on producing high-quality maple syrup that both their family and customers can enjoy, with hopes to expand their retail sales and add more products in the future.
