About the Farm

Welcome to Birdseye Bee's & Poultry, where the Davis family has planted their roots on a charming 5-acre farm in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Stephanie Davis, alongside her husband Josh and daughter Riley Mae, represents a trio of Vermont natives who chose to build their dreams in the very state that raised them. As first-generation beekeepers and poultry enthusiasts, they've recently expanded their journey to include Boer goats, creating a diverse agricultural venture driven by their love for animals and desire for self-sufficiency.

Their beekeeping story began with romance and serendipity. When Josh sought permission from Stephanie's father to propose, he found himself learning about bees from his future father-in-law's hobby hives. What started as a nervous suitor's attempt to bond with his beloved's father blossomed into a genuine passion for honey bees. Josh not only received the blessing he sought but discovered a calling that would shape their family's future together.

From humble beginnings in 2018 with two nucleus colonies transported anxiously in the backseat of their Chrysler 200, the Davis family has built an impressive operation. By 2021, they proudly winterized over 100 beehives across several apiary locations throughout Vermont's beautiful landscape. Their daughter Riley embraces farm life wholeheartedly, tending gardens, collecting chicken eggs, visiting apiaries, and greeting their goats with enthusiastic waves, embodying the next generation's connection to the land.
