Jeff's story begins at Chickadee Hill Farm, where he has lived since birth, his roots literally planted in the same soil he now tends. During his childhood years, he helped with farm chores, and as he grew older, he took over running the Christmas tree field. In high school, he started mowing lawns for neighbors and would borrow his mother's truck to deliver firewood. He learned valuable skills working on his great uncle's farm, and after graduating from St. John's Prep in 2000, he opened Chickadee Hill Farm Services.

Jeff built his firewood business into one of the most well-known operations in the area, serving both residential customers and wholesale distributors. His hard work and dedication grew the company beyond firewood into a full-service lawn maintenance and materials business, including mulch, loam, and his own screened compost, all while maintaining the family farm. In 2008, Jeff married his wife Cory, and their agricultural journey took an unexpected turn when Cory planted a garden and let it die. Jeff stepped in saying he would show her how it was done, discovering he had quite a green thumb, which sparked the beginning of their farm stand.

Today, Chickadee Hill Farm has grown and developed through Jeff's unwavering dedication and obvious passion for every venture he undertakes. His devotion serves as a testament to his love for family, friends, and community. Jeff, Cory, and their daughter Rachel run this truly family farm, with visitors able to find them at their farm stand on Central Street in Rowley or at the Chickadee tent at local farmers' markets. The Head family hopes their farm will continue for generations, carrying forward their commitment to serving their community with quality products and genuine care.
