Chockalog Farm has been a family-run operation since 1965, when Henry Racicot purchased the 36-acre property in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Originally established as a dairy farm during an era when small dairies were more common, the farm provided sustenance for the Racicot family for decades. Henry raised his daughters on this land, including Wenona, who would eventually inherit not just the property but a deep connection to the earth and its cycles.
After Henry retired from active farming and the property served as a homestead for many years, daughter Wenona felt the irresistible pull of agriculture and decided to revive the farm as a commercial enterprise in 2013. With tremendous determination, hard work, and unwavering support from family and friends, especially her father, Wenona has transformed Chockalog Farm into a thriving business that honors both its heritage and its future potential.
Today, Chockalog Farm encompasses 36 acres of family-owned land plus an additional 23 acres of leased hay fields, featuring a harmonious blend of woodland and open pasture. The farm operates under a philosophy that goes beyond organic and sustainable practices, embracing regenerative agriculture techniques that continuously improve the land, support the community, and benefit the environment. Through methods like highly intensive rotational grazing, composting, cover cropping, and integrated pest management, Wenona ensures that every season leaves the farm better than before, creating the healthiest possible food while nurturing the soil and caring for the animals.
