About the Farm

Clatter Valley Farm is a flourishing, family-run farm located on the lush grounds of the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Jane and George Pratt Valley Preserve in New Milford. Since 1994, Jeremy and Willow Schulz have worked side-by-side—first as agricultural students at UConn, then as stewards of this abundant land—to cultivate a farm that feeds both body and community. With over 50 acres under cultivation, Clatter Valley Farm grows a generous variety of fruits and vegetables using traditional and sustainable methods, including manual cultivation and composted manure. Their reach extends beyond their CSA and farm stand, supplying fresh produce to restaurants across Litchfield and Fairfield counties.

The Schulz family’s dedication to local agriculture goes well beyond their own fields. Jeremy, a certified crop advisor and founding member of the New Milford Farmland Preservation Committee, has actively advocated for small farms at both local and national levels. Willow, passionate about food access, has forged meaningful partnerships with City Center Danbury, the United Way, and local food banks to bring produce to seniors and vulnerable families in need. Together, they orchestrate the rhythms of the farm—from planting to harvest, from animal care to CSA logistics—while raising their three children with the same hands-on, heartfelt commitment to land and community.

Each member of their "#farmily" plays a unique role: Olivia, a budding agriculturalist and volunteer firefighter; Aidan, the farm’s resident apiarist and mechanic; Anna, a swift and spirited young planter; and “Grandaddy” Tom, who helps with everything from fieldwork to tomato quality control. Clatter Valley Farm isn’t just a business—it’s a living, breathing family legacy rooted in education, generosity, and the quiet joy of growing good food. Their CSA offers more than vegetables; it offers a relationship to the land and the people who care for it.
