Clover Luck Farm is a family-owned operation in Pepperell, Massachusetts, run by Dave and Mary Sears on land Dave's father purchased in 1959. The elder Sears raised horses for many years before the family added pigs, sheep, and cattle, and today the farm has come full circle as a micro-dairy. Dave and Mary recently renovated the old horse barn into a milking parlor where they milk between 12 and 14 Normande and Jersey cows each day. The cows graze on 65 acres of pasture managed with regenerative practices -- no chemicals, pesticides, or herbicides -- and their rich, creamy milk, which generally carries A2 genetics, is certified by the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture for raw milk sales.
Alongside the dairy, Clover Luck raises heritage breed Berkshire pigs and Ossabaw Island Hogs on pasture. Berkshire pork has been prized since the 1700s for its superior tenderness, juiciness, and intramuscular marbling. The farm sells raw milk, artisanal cheeses, grass-fed beef, pastured pork, and free-range eggs through their on-farm store, online, at local farmers markets, and to several area restaurants.
