Founded in 1918, Gazy Brothers Farm has nourished generations with its steadfast commitment to freshness, family, and tradition. It all began when Grandma and Grandpa Gazsi purchased their original land in Oxford, Connecticut, planting the seeds for a legacy that would span over a century. Their produce supplied local grocers and delis across the Naugatuck Valley, while homemade pickles and sauerkraut from their own cucumbers and cabbage were sold by relatives who ran a local butcher shop. It was a time when food was more than sustenance — it was connection, community, and care.
Today, the fourth generation of the Gazsi family continues to uphold those values. Ed Gazy, along with his wife Alexis, his brothers Pete and Tony, and his children Dominic, Roseanne, Nicholas, and Albert, run the 80-acre farm with heartfelt dedication. Together, they grow roughly 25 acres of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and plants, while also harvesting up to 200 acres of hay annually. The farm uses integrated pest management techniques to ensure healthy crops with reduced reliance on synthetic chemicals, striking a balance between environmental stewardship and flavor-rich produce. During the season, you’ll find them at farmers markets across Fairfield and New Haven counties, as well as at their welcoming roadside stand in Oxford.
Gazy Brothers Farm is not just a place to buy vegetables — it's a way to reconnect with seasonal rhythms, regional bounty, and the heart of Connecticut agriculture. Through their CSA program, flower shares, farm stand, and vibrant presence at weekly markets, the Gazsi family invites the community into their story — one woven through soil, sun, and family heritage. Their deep roots in the land and love for what they grow are evident in every harvest, carrying forward a century-old mission: to feed families freshly, and to do so with joy, pride, and purpose.
