What began as a simple dream many years ago to "someday" have a farm has blossomed into the reality of Half-A-Penny Farm through determination, hard work, and community support. Located in Center Barnstead, New Hampshire, this family operation came to life 15 years after the initial vision, made possible through the unwavering kindness and generosity of the Halfpenny and Welch families who helped turn aspiration into achievement.
The farm is the product of dedication and determination from two brothers, Shane and Norman Forest, who set their sights on raising free range, grass fed black angus beef. Through countless hours of committed work and unwavering focus, they have transformed their goal into a thriving reality that serves their local community with quality, pasture-raised livestock.
Today, Half-A-Penny Farm is home to a herd of pasture-raised Black Angus cattle, alongside two beautiful and friendly horses, a large flock of free-range, colorful, egg-laying chickens, and bunnies that complete their diverse farm family. The operation includes a farm store open by appointment, where visitors can find USDA certified prime beef cuts, farm fresh eggs, seasonings, and seasonal produce, all reflecting the brothers' commitment to quality and sustainable farming practices.
