Highland View Farm began as a modest dream in 2011, when Jed and Karen West started their journey with just half a dozen chickens on their small hobby farm in Alstead, New Hampshire. What began as a simple backyard endeavor has blossomed into a thriving operation that now encompasses dozens of egg-laying chickens, bustling bee colonies, meat chickens, and an ever-expanding vegetable garden that grows alongside their passion for sustainable farming.
The farm's commitment to quality shines through their pasture-raised chickens, which spend their days foraging freely in the yard, supplemented only with 100% non-GMO grain. Jed and Karen raise both the slower-growing Red Ranger breed and the traditional Cornish breed, ensuring their customers receive the finest quality meat. Their dedication extends beyond poultry, as their free-range egg chickens roam outdoors as much as possible, producing healthy, great-tasting eggs sold at just $4 per dozen.
Jed serves as the resident beekeeper, maintaining dozens of hives throughout the Connecticut River Valley spanning both Vermont and New Hampshire. The farm's 100% raw and local honey, along with handcrafted beeswax candles, finds its way to retail locations throughout the area and directly to consumers. Highland View Farm has grown from humble beginnings into a cornerstone of local agriculture, offering everything from wedding favor honey orders to farm-fresh eggs, embodying the spirit of sustainable, community-focused farming.
