About the Farm

Killam & Bassette Farmstead is a multigenerational family farm rooted in South Glastonbury since 1893. The farm is run by the Killam and Bassette families, with Chris, Abby, Dina, Henry K, Jamie, Olivia, Henry B, and Kevin all playing an active role in its daily operations. Over more than a century of farming, they’ve cultivated a reputation for quality, sustainability, and community-centered agriculture.

Today, the farm is known for its wide variety of fresh produce, all-natural USDA pork and chicken, free-range eggs, and award-winning canned goods. They are deeply embedded in the local scene—participating in over 18 farmers markets and a dozen craft fairs each season, hosting farm dinners, spooky strolls, tastings, and private events. Their “Fresh From the Farm” dinners support the Judy Lynch Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in honor of Chris Bassette’s mother, and have raised tens of thousands for local students.

Visitors can shop year-round at their 1098 Main Street stand, which also features other Connecticut-sourced goods like milk, cheese, honey, maple syrup, baked goods, and handmade crafts. In colder months, their CT Made Gift Shop offers curated selections from local artisans. The farm is a testament to hard work, community roots, and a love for the land, encouraging everyone to “Keep it local, keep it fresh.”
