Sixty years ago, a gentleman named Pasquale from Avellino, Italy made the bold decision to come to America with his two sons. Upon their arrival, they stayed with his brother's family and worked for different companies in Boston, laboring day after day to save money for their ultimate dream: purchasing a farm and orchard. That day finally came, and Lanni Orchards Inc was born.
The family started their business by planting apple trees and other crops, operating a farm stand and selling apples to local grocery stores from their roadside stand. They packed and shipped their own apples to Victory Supermarkets, which later became Hannaford, carrying their apples for over 30 years. This foundation of quality and local partnerships established the farm's reputation in the community.
Today, the third generation operates the farm, having transformed it into a full retail and entertainment destination while maintaining its agricultural roots. The farm stand remains open year-round, offering locally made items during the cold winter months and an array of seasonal activities when the weather warms up. From their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Blossom Event to strawberry picking, their sunflower festival, apple picking, and pumpkin picking, they've created what they describe as "one of the most peaceful places on earth" where families can connect with the land and support local agriculture.
