About the Farm

In 1921, Kenneth Times Sr. and his mother Dorothy purchased Lawndale Farm, establishing what would become a remarkable legacy of agricultural dedication spanning five generations and over 100 years. Located overlooking the beautiful Merrimack River in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, this family-owned farm has witnessed nearly a century of change while maintaining its commitment to providing fresh, local produce to the community.

The farm has evolved significantly from its humble beginnings as primarily a dairy operation that once milked as many as 50 cows and grew only about 5 acres of vegetables. Today, the Times family cultivates over 30 acres of fresh vegetables, maintains their own bee hives for honey production, and still raises 25 acres of quality hay and straw bales. They even keep a pet cow named Sloppy, a charming reminder of their dairy heritage.

Lawndale Farm operates under the philosophy that fresh local produce, picked at its peak of ripeness, provides both superior taste and nutritional value while supporting the local community's economic health. The farm manages its operations using sustainable agricultural practices that help protect natural resources and preserve open spaces. Their mission extends beyond simply growing food to creating a destination where families can experience healthy food and fresh country air, whether stopping by after work or taking a leisurely country drive with loved ones.
