About the Farm

Little Ark Farm is nestled in a quiet clearing at the edge of Enfield, Connecticut—a small but abundantly productive four-and-a-half-acre sanctuary run with deep intention by Paul and Nina Lukens. Their love story with the land began in childhood and matured over nearly two decades of gardening, ten years of cultivating this property, and a shared commitment to raising five children while juggling off-farm responsibilities. Their farm is not only a place of food production but a living embodiment of stewardship, humility, and reverence for the natural world.

Operating with a fierce dedication to sustainability and transparency, Paul and Nina farm according to certified organic standards and back every decision with rigorous self-education and meticulous recordkeeping. Their CSA program offers members the fruits of their labor—fresh vegetables, radiant flowers, pasture-raised poultry and eggs, and thoughtful preserves—all grown and prepared with respect for ecology and flavor. From black soldier fly larvae feeding their ducks to no-till practices that nourish the soil, their approach is both traditional and forward-thinking.

Little Ark is more than a farm—it is a deeply personal project built on knowledge, principle, and a joyful obsession with growing well. Though the farm is not open for unannounced visits due to safety, those who make time to join their CSA or meet them at a market will discover a rare integrity that runs through every egg, every bouquet, every jar of chutney. It’s a place where science meets soul, and where farming becomes a quiet act of devotion to the land, their family, and the future.
