About the Farm

Old Earth Orchards is the heartfelt creation of William McCaffrey and Veronica Palladino, multi-generation farmers who view agriculture as essential to building resilient communities and combating climate change. William grew up on the very land they now farm at 692 Caswell Street in East Taunton, Massachusetts, while Veronica was raised on a dairy farm in Lansing, New York. Their paths converged at Cornell's College of Agriculture in Ithaca, where they met and discovered their shared vision for sustainable farming.

As a small family farm, Old Earth Orchards operates with a clear mission: to connect their community to the land through vibrant agriculture. They raise and sell asparagus, rhubarb, pastured pork, and cranberries using low or no-spray methods, committed to putting carbon back into the soil. Their orchards are steadily growing, with plans to offer plums, peaches, nectarines, apples, and pears in the coming years. The farm emphasizes providing food directly to Taunton and surrounding communities, fostering local food security.

What makes Old Earth Orchards particularly special is how William, Veronica, and their children Hazel and Ollie have created a true family farming operation. They take pride in raising their kids alongside their pigs as playmates, with produce fields serving as their playground. Their commitment extends beyond just growing food to caring deeply about their animals, crops, land, and community, embodying the regenerative agriculture principles they believe are crucial for a sustainable future.
