Upon graduating college with a Forestry degree, Derek Patry returned home to Berlin, New Hampshire with dreams of starting a family and tapping into the Northern New Hampshire sugaring world. Armed with exposure to sugarbush operation and management, Derek was determined to transform his knowledge into liquid gold. In 2010, he started small, tapping just a few trees in hopes of refining a process that would lead to future growth.
With help from his father Dave, Derek has now completed his 12th consecutive year making pure maple syrup. Patry's Sugarhouse was established over the summer months of 2012, with its first sugaring season launching in the spring of 2013. What began as a modest operation has grown to encompass around 800 taps that collect sap each spring, transforming the Northern New Hampshire landscape into a source of sweet treasure.
Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Patry's Sugarhouse bottles their syrup fresh at the source in various sizes of plastic jugs and glass containers. For the Patry family, making syrup is more than a business venture, it's a fun family and friend occasion where guests are welcomed anytime during production. They embrace the rich heritage of Northern New Hampshire maple syrup making, proudly carrying on this tradition while offering custom orders for events and weddings with multiple container style and size choices.
