Red Sky Farm's journey began with a profound connection to the land that couldn't be severed. After 25 years of dairying, the owners made the difficult decision to exit the industry in 2004, but it didn't take long for them to miss their agricultural roots. The following year, they planted pumpkins as a simple fall offering, and when that first crop sold out quickly, they knew they had discovered their new path forward.
What started as a modest pumpkin patch has blossomed into a comprehensive farm market that celebrates the rhythms of Vermont's seasons. Each year brought expansion and growth, adding vegetables, fruits, bedding plants, hanging baskets, Christmas trees, holiday greenery, local meats, and cheeses to their offerings. Their handcrafted shop, Queen Bee Creations, actually predates the farm's transformation, having been established in 2002 from a passion for sewing and creating beautiful, functional items like fleece mittens, children's clothing, blankets, and housewares.
At the heart of Red Sky Farm lies a commitment to community accessibility and quality. The farm earned certification from the Community Accreditation for Produce Safety in 2016 and maintains this standard through annual re-certification. Their philosophy centers on providing high-quality products at reasonable prices, believing that everyone should be able to afford fresh produce and meats, quality plants, and pantry staples without breaking the bank. This year-round market serves as a cornerstone for their community, offering convenient shopping and connecting neighbors to the best of local agriculture.
