Ridgway Farm is a multigenerational family-run farm nestled in the hills of North Cornwall, Connecticut. Established in 1980 by Gordon Ridgway and his father Bruce, the farm was founded on a vision of changing the way food is grown—prioritizing taste, sustainability, and deep-rooted community values. Over the past four decades, it has evolved into a cherished local institution, known for its commitment to “beyond organic” methods, its preservation of heritage farming techniques, and its thoughtful stewardship of the land.
Gordon, alongside his wife Jayne and their three children, Elizabeth, Ian, and Rebecca, have made the farm a true home. Each family member contributes their own passions—from cattle care and flower arranging to market operations and tractor work. Their love for the farm is palpable in every detail, whether it's a bouquet of fresh flowers, a basket of heirloom tomatoes, or the quiet, humble presence of their 24/7 roadside stand. The farm not only raises produce and animals but also instills values of hard work, service, and harmony with nature—Gordon himself serving as Cornwall’s First Selectman and Jayne as an Advanced EMT.
In addition to producing organic vegetables and high-quality pasture-raised meats, Ridgway Farm is also known for its maple syrup, handmade flower arrangements, and community presence at local farmers markets. With the help of dedicated friends and seasonal workers, including artists, athletes, and lifelong neighbors, the farm remains a thriving example of local resilience and the enduring beauty of small-scale agriculture.
