Established in 1908 and rooted in the fertile hills of South Glastonbury, Rose’s Berry Farm has long been a cornerstone of Connecticut’s agricultural tradition. For over a century, the Rose family nurtured the land, offering generations of families the joy of picking berries, apples, and pumpkins in the scenic embrace of Matson Hill. Famous for its "Breakfast-With-A-View," Rose’s became not just a place to gather food, but to gather memories—a sanctuary of seasonal abundance and rural charm.
In 2022, the Gondek Family became the proud stewards of this beloved farm, bringing with them six generations of Glastonbury roots and a deep dedication to sustainability. Under their leadership, the farm transitioned to being entirely pesticide and glyphosate-free, reaffirming its commitment to environmental care and the health of the community. Their vision carries the legacy of the Roses forward, balancing reverence for the past with an unshakable hope for a greener future. They have also partnered with River Ridge Farm and Market—an organic, no-till farm in Portland, CT—to manage seasonal berry and fruit production using regenerative practices that align with their shared values.
More than just a place to pick fruit, Rose’s Berry Farm is an evolving hub of seasonal joy and community engagement. From yoga at their September Market to flower picking in summer, every event is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with the land. With their eyes set on preserving the farm in perpetuity through development rights sales and thoughtful stewardship, the Gondeks continue to grow more than food—they cultivate heritage, connection, and a sustainable future for all.
