About the Farm

Smyth’s Trinity Farm in Enfield, Connecticut is a true rarity in the world of modern dairying—a family-owned operation where the milk never leaves the property. For nearly a century, the Smyth family has tended this land with devotion, evolving it from a humble Depression-era farmstead into a fully integrated dairy where milk is still bottled on-site. There are no tanker trucks here. Every drop of milk, every carton of yogurt, and every round of butter begins and ends its journey on the farm. That uncompromising commitment to quality and transparency has earned Smyth’s Trinity Farm deep respect throughout the region—including the 2016 Green Pastures Award, naming it Connecticut’s Dairy Farm of the Year.

At the heart of the farm is a family whose roots run deep in both the soil and the community. Today, the third generation—siblings Anne Dugas and Sam Smyth—lead the day-to-day operations with vision and vitality. Anne, who manages the farm and herd, represents a new era of women in agriculture, supported by her husband Jeremy and their children, who are already active in 4-H and FFA. Sam oversees wholesale and home delivery logistics, and also manages over 70 acres of hay to feed the farm’s grass-fed, pasture-raised cows. Together with their parents, Mike and Dale Smyth, who built the farm’s processing facility in the 1990s, they carry on a legacy of stewardship that blends tradition with thoughtful innovation.

Smyth’s Trinity Farm is more than a place to buy milk—it is a living system of care, community, and connection. The farm's “Milk and More Store” welcomes locals six days a week, while the home delivery service brings fresh milk, yogurt, and eggs to families across north-central Connecticut and western Massachusetts. Customers also find them at farmers’ markets in Ellington, Springfield, and New Haven. Whether it’s a bottle of rich, creamy milk or a dozen farm-fresh eggs, each product reflects a quiet excellence that comes only from knowing—and loving—every step of the process.
