About the Farm

Nestled in the rolling hills of Fairfield, Vermont, Stony Pond Farm stands as a testament to the power of passion and purpose in modern agriculture. This family-owned, certified organic operation specializes in supreme quality fluid milk, artisanal farmstead cheese, and naturally raised 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef. Under the dedicated stewardship of Tyler and Melanie Webb, the farm has evolved into something far greater than a simple agricultural enterprise.

Tyler Webb, a University of Vermont graduate with a Masters of Science in Agronomy and Grazing Management, brings both scholarly expertise and hands-on experience to every aspect of farm operations. His academic foundation, combined with practical work alongside the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Northeast Organic Farming Association, plus years of cattle grazing experience, inspired him to make a life-changing decision in 2004. He resigned from his previous career to guide Stony Pond Farm toward its current direction, dedicating his spring through fall days to intensive farm work while finding winter solace earning turns in Vermont's backcountry or skiing at nearby Jay Peak.

Melanie Webb complements her husband's agricultural expertise with her own rich background in business and art, earned through her Carnegie Mellon University education. As a professional photographer, she possesses an exceptional ability to perceive the subtle rhythms and events within the farm's daily operations, often taking the lead in identifying and addressing the dynamic needs of their contented herd. Her artistic sensibilities extend beyond photography into gardening, where she maintains the family's vegetable plot and preserves food for winter months, and into culinary explorations that transform their kitchen into a creative studio where each meal becomes a work of art. Together with their children Wyatt and Willow, and a colorful cast of farm characters including dogs Otis and Bridgett, breeding bulls Pancho and Lefty, and pigs Trey, Page, and Fish, the Webbs have created a farm entity whose mission is beautifully simple: to live freely while sharing food that nourishes the environment, mind, body, and soul, believing that happy, fulfilled farmers working alongside blissful, contented cows create food unmatched in quality.
