Sweet Farm Bees, LLC operates from a sprawling 170-acre multi-use farm nestled in Sullivan, New Hampshire, where the art of beekeeping thrives alongside nature's rhythm. The farm runs production hives for honey, raises survivor-stock queens, and serves as the home base for The Brattleboro Area Beekeepers' Guild, creating a hub of apicultural activity in the region.
At the heart of this operation is proprietor Nancy Frye, who began her beekeeping journey in 2013 and has since become deeply embedded in the regional beekeeping community. Her dedication spans multiple organizations, including the Eastern Apicultural Society, New Hampshire Beekeepers Association, Monadnock Beekeepers Association, Vermont Beekeepers Association, and Windham County Beekeepers. In 2021, her commitment to education earned her the prestigious "Honeybee Educator of the Year" award from the Vermont Beekeepers Association.
Sweet Farm Bees operates with a mission centered on education and support for beekeepers at every level. The farm sells bees in spring with packages available in April and nucs in May, while hosting beekeeping workshops throughout the year. Their educational approach focuses on timely instruction that prepares beekeepers for seasonal challenges, covering everything from installation and mite management to queen-making and winter preparation, ensuring the next generation of beekeepers has the knowledge they need to succeed.
