About the Farm

Since 1872, the Tully Family has been milking cows in Dunstable, Massachusetts, establishing a legacy that spans six generations and almost 150 years of continuous operation. What began when Henry and Mary Tully purchased their first farm on Hollis Street has grown into a sprawling 400-acre operation across Dunstable and Pepperell, Massachusetts, and Hollis, New Hampshire. Through strategic acquisitions including the Drake property in 1901, the Rideout Farm in 1919, and the Lawrence Farm in 1940, the family methodically expanded their holdings, with each generation building upon the foundation laid by those before them.

The farm's evolution reflects both tradition and innovation, from George Tully's transformative leadership and community involvement to the formation of Tully Farms Inc. in 1970. George, who lived his entire life on the farm until his passing in 2015, embodied the family's commitment to both agricultural excellence and community service, co-founding the Dunstable Civic Trust and helping establish the Farmer's Live Animal Market Exchange. Today, Charles W. Tully Jr. serves as president, continuing the modernization efforts that have brought new barns, advanced technology, and the 1999 milking parlor that processes milk from their 270 head of registered and grade Holsteins.

Tully Farms Dairy has earned recognition as the Massachusetts Dairy Farm of the Year for 2019 and holds the distinguished Century Farm designation from the Massachusetts Farm Bureau. Their commitment to quality shines through their vat pasteurization process, which uses lower temperatures for longer periods to create milk with a rich, creamy flavor and enhanced nutrients. The farm produces an impressive 2.5 million pounds of milk annually while also cultivating 15,000 bales of hay, 600 tons of grass silage, and 3,000 tons of corn, demonstrating their dedication to sustainable, comprehensive farming practices that serve both their community and the broader agricultural landscape.
