Varga Farm represents a remarkable journey of agricultural perseverance that began in 1907 when two Czechoslovakian immigrants pursued the American dream in Ashford, Connecticut. What started as a humble poultry operation would eventually grow into a dairy farm, establishing the Varga Farm name that would span generations. The family later expanded their dairy operations to include a secondary location in Mansfield, Connecticut, cementing their place in New England's agricultural landscape.
In 2010, the Varga family brought their farming tradition to New Hampshire, continuing their commitment to high-quality poultry while maintaining their premium feed hay operation at the original Connecticut location. The farm evolved significantly over the years, adding Highland Beef to their offerings in 2021 and expanding further with pork production in 2024. Today, the fifth and sixth generations of the family work the original Connecticut land, while the New Hampshire operation has grown to include a unique line of Pup Chews made from their farm-raised animals.
At Varga Farm, the commitment to animal welfare and quality remains unwavering across all generations. Their animals are pasture-raised and allowed to express natural behaviors: cows roam and graze, hogs root and wallow, and chickens scratch and peck freely in fenced pastures. The farm operates on principles of dignity and respect for their animals throughout their entire lives, while working with passion, respecting their resources, and striving to provide quality products to their agricultural community. This fourth-generation family farming operation continues to honor the dreams of their inspired ancestors who hoped to create a better tomorrow.
