Maple Syrup

About the Farm

Nestled on the slopes of Mt. Elon overlooking Seymour Lake in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, Judd's Wayeeses Farms has been producing award-winning maple products for over thirty-five years. Jim and Donna began their journey when Jim installed pipeline and started tapping trees in 1978, with Donna joining him in 1987. Their current sugarhouse was built in 1989, and their operation has grown and evolved over the decades while maintaining traditional wood-fired methods.

The farm carries deep roots in Vermont's maple tradition, with Jim's sugaring heritage spanning four generations in Morgan. His grandfather Alansford worked these woods as a young man, and the family photographs tell the story of generations dedicated to the craft of maple syrup production. This generational knowledge combines with modern sustainable practices to create something truly special.

Judd's Wayeeses Farms produces pure Vermont maple products from a single stand of maple trees, managing their sugarbush as a bird-friendly habitat and producing syrup in small batches over a wood-fired evaporator. Their operation is certified organic, reflecting their commitment to environmental stewardship. The farm itself sits on land that was once the Wayeeses Boys Camp, which operated from 1923 until World War II on 320 acres of timberland that included a large maple-sugar woods, connecting the present operation to the land's rich history.
