White Barn Farm is a charming vegetable farm and farmstand located in Wrentham, Massachusetts, dedicated to sustainable agriculture, exceptional produce, and fostering community connections. The farm was founded in 2008 by Christy Raymond with Chris Kantlehner joining forces in 2009, and White Barn Farm has been nurturing the environment and community ever since.
Committed to sustainable farming practices, the farmers prioritize the importance of providing fresh food for their community and understand the significance of producing food with care. They never use genetically modified seeds, always purchase organically grown cover crop seeds, and start all seeds in Fort Vee organic compost based potting soil from Vermont Compost. Their farming approach includes using only OMRI certified products for pest management, conducting annual soil tests to guide their fertility program, and employing hand cultivation and hoeing alongside tractor cultivation when appropriate.
The farm's mission extends beyond growing food to inspiring local residents to embrace seasonal eating and take time to create delicious meals for their loved ones using ingredients grown with care. At their farmstand, they foster community connections, protect the environment, and support small businesses. All harvesting is done by hand, with greens harvested in the cool morning hours, and crops are promptly washed and moved to refrigeration to maintain peak freshness for their community.
