Autumn Harvest Orchard, LLC is a Certified Naturally Grown farm nestled in the hills of Norfolk, Connecticut. What began in 2000 as an overgrown pasture slowly transformed into a thriving orchard by 2006, now home to hundreds of apple, pear, nectarine, and chestnut trees, as well as expansive rows of berries, vegetables, and herbs. With a steadfast commitment to sustainability, the farm is stewarded in harmony with nature and wildlife, never relying on synthetic pesticides or herbicides. It is both an orchard and an apiary, working in tandem with bees to support biodiversity and ecosystem health.
The heart and hands behind the land belong to Joanne Charon, a veteran whose lifelong love of agriculture was born in childhood gardens and fulfilled after more than two decades of military service. Upon settling in Connecticut, she poured her vision into reviving the land—not simply to grow food, but to leave something better for the next generation. Joanne’s orchard is not only a reflection of ecological stewardship but also of personal resilience, community commitment, and reverence for natural cycles.
Today, Autumn Harvest Orchard produces an abundant variety of Certified Naturally Grown produce for CSA members, farmers’ markets, and respected restaurants across the state. Joanne employs Integrated Pest Management practices and stays current with USDA and FDA agricultural guidelines, ensuring the food is as safe as it is flavorful. Through every harvest and each jar of honey, the orchard invites the community to “Taste the Difference”—of food raised naturally, lovingly, and with an unwavering respect for the land.
