About the Farm

Berry Knoll Farm is the passion project of David and Linda Sorensen, nestled in the quiet town of Eaton, New Hampshire, just a mile from the Maine border. David graduated from the University of Rhode Island with his Master's Degree in Horticulture, specializing in small fruit, and spent 30 years as a UNH Carroll County Cooperative Service Extension Agent before retiring to focus full-time on his agricultural pursuits. The entirety of Berry Knoll, from dwelling to garages to crops, was built mostly with David's own two hands starting in 2000.

The farm represents a beautiful fusion of David's horticultural expertise and Linda's creative talents as a jeweler affiliated with the League of NH Craftsmen. David tends to seven varieties of blueberries, two varieties of gooseberries, black, red and champagne currants, and newly planted black raspberry bushes, while also maintaining beehives and tapping maple trees for syrup production each March. Linda experiments with various fruit combinations to make jams and conserves, always incorporating some of Berry Knoll's own honey without overpowering the natural fruit flavors.

Beyond berry production, the farm showcases more than 250 varieties of daylilies that mark the entrance to the berry fields, creating a stunning visual welcome for visitors. David and Linda find deep satisfaction in welcoming people to their peaceful corner of New Hampshire, especially when children visiting their grandparents ask to return to "that place to pick berries." Their commitment to supporting local agriculture and creating lasting family memories makes Berry Knoll more than just a farm - it's a cherished community destination.
