About the Farm

Crown & Roots Farm began as a dream of Nick Rozowsky and Abbey Murphy, who started their farming operation in 2019 after years of experience in the food industry and graphic design respectively. Nick brought his passion for food cultivated through two seasons of vegetable farming and seven years of high volume kitchen work, while Abbey contributed her expertise in visual communications and brand identity for small businesses. Their journey started on the historic Moraine Farm in Beverly, Massachusetts, where they farmed for two seasons before making a pivotal decision to return to their roots.

In early spring of 2021, the couple packed up their operation and moved to Central Massachusetts, where they had grown up. They established their farm in Oxford on Federal Hill Road, taking over land formerly operated by Long Field Flower Farm. The move allowed them to become part of the already robust local agriculture scene in Central Massachusetts, and in 2022, they expanded their operation by leasing two greenhouses at Dresser Hill Farm in Charlton, formerly operated by Abundance Family Farm.

At the heart of Crown & Roots Farm lies a deep belief that a thriving local food system is essential to building thriving communities. Nick and Abbey are committed to growing high quality, nutrient-dense vegetables and fresh cut flowers using organic practices, with no pesticides or herbicides whatsoever. Their mission extends beyond simply growing food; they want to help continue building New England's strong local agriculture scene and shape food culture in Massachusetts and beyond with honest, sustainably grown food that nourishes their community.
