Ferrindino Maple's story begins in 2010, when the family set out on a quest to create a natural product they could share with those closest to them. In a world increasingly dominated by processed foods, the Ferrindinos sought an alternative that reflected their values: something pure, something real. Over the next two years, they poured themselves into learning every facet of maple production, and in 2012, the family sugarhouse was officially established on Glendale Road in Hampden, Massachusetts.
What started with 600 buckets hung from roadside maples, collected with permission from generous neighbors, has grown into an operation tapping roughly 3,000 trees across sugarbushes in Hampden and Wilbraham. The sap is still cooked down on a wood-fired evaporator in the family's red barn, a labor of love that produces approximately 1,500 gallons of syrup each season. Co-founders Jerry and Carrie Ferrindino, along with their son Andrew, have expanded the product line well beyond the original bottles of syrup to include maple candy, maple spread, maple sugar, maple cotton candy, maple pecans, and their locally famous maple cremee soft-serve ice cream.
All of Ferrindino Maple's core products, including their syrup, candy, and spread, are certified organic by Baystate Organics. The family believes the best way to show loyalty and pride for a product is to make it personal, and the Ferrindino name on every bottle is their pledge that what they give to their customers is what they hold close to their own hearts.
