Hidden Springs Maple is a family maple farm in Putney, Vermont, owned and operated by Peter Cooper-Ellis. The Cooper-Ellis family has been in the maple syrup business for over fifty years, beginning in the 1950s and 60s under the Cooper-Ellis Sugar Makers label. Today, Peter and his brother Fraser jointly own and operate CE Maple, one of the largest and most respected Southern Vermont maple syrup farms. Peter also runs Hidden Springs Maple as a retail operation.
The Hidden Springs sugar bush spans over 1,000 acres in Putney and Westminster West, Vermont, spread across an eastern-sloping mountain ridge known locally as Bemis Hill. The operation produces 100% natural and certified organic maple syrup, hand-packed for freshness and certified Kosher. They offer Golden, Amber, and Dark grades. Hidden Springs also purchases bulk syrup from neighboring Vermont farms, providing smaller producers with access to a national market. Products are available in the farm store, online with free shipping over $64.99, and at restaurants and specialty stores throughout the U.S. The farm store also carries maple candies, fudge, and other Vermont specialty items, and is famous for its maple creemees.
