About the Farm

Hungry Reaper Farm is a small but mighty community-centered farm nestled in Morris, Connecticut. Co-founded by Jill Verzino and Will O’Meara, the farm has become a haven for ecologically responsible farming and a hub of local food culture. With deep roots in New England agriculture, the team brings years of hands-on experience and a shared passion for regenerative farming practices to every harvest. Their mission is not only to grow food but to steward land, support community health, and build resilient local food systems.

Jill Verzino, an artist and environmentalist, brings an eye for both design and ecological balance to the farm. Her farming journey began in her grandparents’ garden and blossomed into a full-fledged career through experience at Evergreen Berry Farm and academic studies in visual art and environmental policy at Fordham University. Her co-founder, Will O’Meara, studied Sustainable Food and Farming at UMass Amherst and cut his teeth in the fields of Waldingfield Farm, where he honed his skills in soil stewardship and farm management. Together, Jill and Will bring a thoughtful, hands-on approach to their work, inspired by a shared commitment to land, flavor, and community.

At Hungry Reaper, all produce is grown using methods that adhere to National Organic Program standards, though the farm is not formally certified. Their holistic approach includes composting, biodiversity, OMRI-approved inputs, cover cropping, and integrated pest management. Their CSA program reflects this ethos: generous, flexible, and rooted in community support. Whether you're picking up a share at the farm stand in Morris or browsing their abundant booth at the Black Rock or Westport farmers’ markets, Hungry Reaper Farm invites you into a food system grounded in integrity, care, and delicious, nutrient-dense vegetables.
