Joseph Preli Farm & Winery is a generational gem nestled in the hills of South Glastonbury, Connecticut. The farm’s origins date back to 1920, when Joseph Preli and his wife Rose arrived from Northern Italy and settled into the rich soil of the Connecticut River Valley. From the very beginning, Joseph nurtured the land with care, planting Concord grapes and crafting wines for family and friends with Old World methods and timeless pride.
As the decades passed, the Preli family’s agricultural legacy flourished. Joseph and Rose raised six daughters who carried forward both the farm and the winemaking tradition, stewarding the land and keeping alive the rituals that shaped their childhood. Today, that heritage lives on through Joseph’s grandson John and his partner Jeanne, who now operate the farm with reverence for the past and a renewed vision for the future. Together, they have restored antique tractors, cultivated a lush landscape of produce, and opened a boutique winery—welcoming the community to gather, sip, and celebrate the beauty of local craftsmanship.
Every bottle of wine, jar of jam, and basket of fresh-picked produce at Joseph Preli Farm & Winery speaks to a commitment to purity, sustainability, and soul. From naturally fermented hard ciders and hand-harvested garlic scapes to beeswax candles and rare heirloom tomatoes, the farm honors a simpler time while embracing the joy of sharing that richness with others. It is not just a place to buy food—it is a place to experience the land, taste the season, and feel the enduring warmth of a family that has made this corner of Connecticut their life’s masterpiece.
