About the Farm
Maple Hill Farm is an independently owned, diversified 30-acre maple and Christmas tree farm located in the heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The farm is run by husband-and-wife team Nick and Stephanie Lussier, who together produce and handcraft pure Vermont maple syrup, maple cream, and a signature line of maple seasonings and jellies, as well as raw honey. After purchasing the 30-acre parcel of farmland in Barton in 2012, Nick put his degree in agricultural sciences from Vermont Technical College to work by first planting Christmas trees.
In 2015, Nick built a sugarhouse, tapped his grove of sugar maples on Maple Hill, and began producing wood-fired, small-batch maple syrup. His entrepreneurial spirit and his family's sugar-making history in the Northeast Kingdom, paired with Stephanie's marketing and social media expertise, led the couple to develop an expanding line of specialty maple products. Stephanie, who holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, spent 18 years working in healthcare before becoming a stay-at-home mom after the birth of their daughter, Raegan, in 2022. She now dedicates her time to the family, the farm, and growing the business.
In addition to their maple products, Nick's father operates Maple Hill Apiaries near the farm, producing the raw honey they sell. The Christmas tree farm has grown from 2,500 to over 11,000 Balsam and Fraser firs since 2014, thriving in the rich soil and cold climate of northern Vermont. Maple Hill Farm also offers handcrafted artisan wreaths and choose-and-cut trees during the holiday season, making it a year-round destination for those who love the sweetness and beauty of Vermont farm life.
