Sunny Meadow Farm, nestled in the picturesque town of Bridgewater, Connecticut, embodies a profound dedication to sustainability, humane animal care, and environmental stewardship. At the heart of the farm is an unwavering commitment to cultivating produce free of pesticides, raising animals humanely, and preserving the natural integrity of the land. Every crop planted, animal raised, and drop of maple syrup bottled reflects an earnest passion for offering fresh, wholesome foods directly to the community.
The farm's day-to-day operations are skillfully overseen by Jon Lindblom, an experienced local farmer who brought over a decade of agricultural expertise and CSA management to Sunny Meadow Farm. Jon's devotion to sustainable practices ensures that the farm produces some of the finest pasture-raised poultry in the region, alongside an array of fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits. Under his careful supervision, the farm also crafts pure maple syrup, a cherished local delicacy made from sap harvested each winter from the farm's maple trees.
In addition to produce and poultry, Sunny Meadow Farm maintains a delightful menagerie of animals including sheep and goats. Managed tenderly by Helen Blackwood, the livestock program showcases a harmonious approach to animal husbandry. Sheep of the Texel breed graze peacefully alongside their playful goat companions, each receiving specialized diets to match their natural behaviors—sheep grazing the pasture grasses, and goats browsing twigs and leaves. This attentive, respectful care results in animals that thrive, providing a charming, vibrant addition to the farm's overall ethos of conscientious farming.
