About the Farm

Temple Mountain Honey is the passion project of Karen Crissey, a lifelong nature lover who transformed her retirement into a new season of purpose through beekeeping. What began as a single hive has blossomed into a beautiful operation featuring a bee house surrounded by a stream, two ponds, and a greenhouse, all designed to support her thriving bee colonies in the wild meadows and foothills of Temple Mountain.

At the heart of Temple Mountain Honey lies a delicate balance between the wellbeing of the bees and sharing their natural products with customers who value artisanal quality and the health benefits of local honey. Karen maintains the highest standards of care for her bees, the Earth, and her customers, removing honey, wax, and other resources only when they represent surplus not necessary for the bees' survival. Her commitment extends to creating a completely chemical-free environment where herbicides and pesticides are strictly prohibited, allowing plants to be carefully cultivated to provide food for bees, birds, and butterflies.

The operation embraces sustainable practices including composting and rainwater collection, while Karen hand-bottles each jar of raw, unfiltered honey and creates flavored options and custom orders. She welcomes customers to schedule garden tours, believing that everyone possesses the power to effect positive change for pollinators, whether through beekeeping or simply raising awareness within their community. Temple Mountain Honey represents more than a business - it's a legacy of stewardship and respect for the landscape that Karen cherishes and hopes to pass on to future generations.
