The Scallop Truck is a small, family-owned business that brings the freshest day boat sea scallops directly from the waters off Cape Cod to local customers. Operating their 51-foot steel Rhode Island Marine fishing vessel called Outlaw, they harvest scallops from the sandy ocean bottom, shuck them onboard, and sell them directly to the community. The business operates out of multiple ports including Hyannis, Provincetown, and New Bedford, ensuring they can deliver the highest quality locally sourced seafood.
Both founders Max and Crystal grew up on Cape Cod in fishing families, with the ocean and seafood industry woven into their DNA. Max learned the trade from his father Scott, who owned and operated clam boats, and has spent his entire life working in various aspects of the fishing industry from lobstering and clamming to scalloping and tuna fishing. Now working as a boat manager with extensive knowledge of boat mechanics, his passion for the sea and fresh seafood led to the purchase of the F/V Outlaw. Crystal, a registered nurse by trade, is the daughter of a local fisherman who happens to be the 2008 World Champion Oyster Shucker, and spent her childhood helping with harvester tags, shucking bay scallops, and working the oyster flats in Wellfleet.
The next generation drives the company's core values of quality, commitment, and sustainability. Their sons Chase and Weston represent the future of the business, with Chase already showing his father's passion for fishing through his own crab traps at Rock Harbor and trout fishing adventures, while also serving as an enthusiastic salesman for The Scallop Truck. Weston contributes his own charm to attract customers, and together the family creates a welcoming atmosphere where customers can meet the people who personally harvest their seafood from Cape Cod waters.
